The Busse Lake is a lagoon separated from the sea by sand split and connected to it by a single creek. The lagoon was discovered in the 1797 and named after the major N.V. Busse, who was the member of Amur expedition in 1849 – 1855. Different sea grass and seaweed grows in the lake. One of them is red alga Ahnfeltia, which is used to make agar agar. Busse Lake also rich in oysters, mussels, scallops, trepangs and shrimps. The lake is the place of inhabiting of different fish such as salmon, herring, navaga, smelt, crucian, taimen and etc.. Busse is also a place of nesting of swimming birds. The lagoon of the Busse Lake is a regional natural site with rich ecosystem that has commercial importance and important scientific velue.
