Tour information

The Bykov rapids is a chain of small cascades that terminate as a modest but thundering waterfall. It used to be bigger, but back in soviet times it was blasted to create spawning way for salmon. A huge rock that served as a dam in past is now a perfect observation spot for the tourists. This is indeed a very beautiful and picturesque place. To descend to the waterfall you will need to walk a very steep path along the edge of a downfall over the water. Swimming is allowed in the river rapids, which is a lot of fun. There’s plenty of rocks to explore above and under water. Apart from great scenery you may also take a look at the old mines build by the Japanese. Starodubskoe settlement, located along the Terpenie Bay, is famous for its amber washed onshore with sea waves. Local people are using healing muds used for a variety of medical purposes. While walking along the shore take your time and keep looking down, perhaps you will be lucky enough to find some glowing amber.
